System Established to Develop Vaccine Strains for Korean Foot-and-Mouth Disease
Date 2017-09-20
◇ The Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccine Research Center of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency has secured a system that can quickly produce a seed virus for any foot-and-mouth disease vaccine regardless of foot-and-mouth disease serotypes.

◇ The development of vaccines for Korean foot-and-mouth disease is expected to be boosted as it is now easier to design and produce foot-and-mouth disease vaccine strains required at Korean animal husbandry sites.

◇ The results are published in the latest edition of the Journal of Virology, one of the world's most prominent scientific journals in the field of virus research.
