750 Tons of Aid Rice Will be Shipped Abroad for the First Time

◇ Ceremony commemorating the loading of 750 tons of Korea’s first aid rice through the APTERR[1]

 

 

  ◦ Date and place: 15:00 to 15:30 on May 15, 2017 (Friday), Gwangyang Port

  

  ◦ Participants: 80 people including representatives of major related organizations such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (minister), the Korean Advanced Farmers Federation, lawmaker Jeong In-hwa, the South Jeolla Province governor (acting), the head of the Yeosu Maritime Administration and President of Gwangyang Port Authority

  

    ◦ Highlights: Progress report and commemorative event (container work demonstration)






[1] APTERR is a joint rice reserve system established in March 2013 by South Korea, China, Japan and the ten member counries of ASEAN to jointly tackle food crises during a regional emergency.
